The Baseball and Softball Shop (TBASS) is a family-run business that was founded by managing director, Bradley Jones in 2007. As a keen softball player, Bradley was frustrated by the cost of equipment in the UK and the lack of choice, so he set up TBASS to supply high quality kit at affordable prices to UK players, coaches and clubs.

15 years on, while the business continued to be successful, TBASS was facing increased competition and its desktop ecommerce platform was struggling to cope.

“The old desktop system served us very well over the years,” said Bradley.

“But we needed a more contemporary design, access to next generation marketing tools and seamless integration with Despatch Cloud – the system used by our fulfilment company.”

The project

The project progressed through four stages of delivery.

  1. EcomEvolve reviewed the available traffic and sales data and adjusted the market positioning for the business as “The UK’s Baseball & Softball Club Shop”.

  2. Once the market positioning was agreed, EcomEvolve developed a new design for the online store.

  3. EcomEvolve then migrated the content to Shopify and implemented the design.

  4. Finally, EcomEvolve helped TBASS integrate Shopify with Despatch Cloud and launched the new online store.
